About the job
This is an exciting time to join Nordic Semiconductor. You will help define and create the digital radio in the new ULP Multi-Role Radio group, building the world’s lowest power multi-role radio for industrial and consumer applications. You will work closely with your peers in the Long Range Business Unit and the other teams at Nordic Semiconductor.
You will report to the Director of ULP Multi-Role Radio, Long Range BU, and be a core part of the Multi-Role Radio team. You will actively contribute to the strategy and goals of the group.
The Long Range Business Unit of Nordic Semiconductor covers today Cellular IoT, DECT NR+, and cloud solutions. As Radio Architect in the ULP Multi-Role Radio group, you will play a key role in creating new opportunities for Nordic Semiconductor.
Key responsibilities
- Defining the radio architecture, together with your peers, with focus on digital baseband and signal processing, low-level MAC HW and software interface
- Deliver timely specifications, and lead other HW developers to ensure that the final design meets the product goals
- Participate in RTL design as necessary
- Identify issues throughout the design process that may affect final product performance, and update specifications accordingly
- Work with customers and product management to understand customer needs, and ensure that the radio architecture and specifications take them into account
- Drive innovation and keep on top of developments in state-of-the-art radio design
Key Qualifications
- Master’s degree or PhD in electrical engineering or similar
- 10 years+ experience in integrated CMOS radio projects
- The ability to specify and communicate complicated requirements to HW developers
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English
- A proven track record of ultra-low power radio architecture, system, and design
- Bluetooth / Thread / 802.15.4 or similar modem RTL design
- Signal processing, wireless communication theory and algorithms
- Fluent in MATLAB/Octave, Python, or Julia
