At the Board Level Reliability Testing (BLRT) lab, we work hands-on with industry-standard methods to validate the robustness and reliability of our semiconductor packages and systems. We collaborate closely with Nordic Semiconductor’s product and test engineering teams to simulate real-world stresses on our products and ensure high quality and durability in the field. Our lab is fully equipped to carry out environmental and mechanical reliability testing such as mechanical shock, thermal cycling, bending, vibration, and more.

Your Tasks

As a summer intern in the BLRT lab, you will:

• Prepare samples for testing, including soldering of printed circuit boards (PCBs), module mounting, and connector work.
• Learn and assist in performing reliability tests, including Mechanical Shock, Thermal Cycling, Bending Tests, and Vibration.
• Operate and maintain lab equipment used for Board Level Reliability (BLR) and environmental stress testing.
• Support in documenting procedures and test setups.
• Contribute to organizing test data and preparing preliminary reports.
• Collaborate with other engineers and students in the lab on practical problem solving.

Who You Are

• A 3rd or 4th year student in Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
• You have a basic understanding of electronic components, PCB assembly, and circuit functionality.
• You enjoy hands-on lab work, including soldering, assembling boards, and running tests.
• You are curious and eager to learn, especially about reliability and qualification methods in the semiconductor field.
• You work in a structured and precise way, and can follow procedures carefully.
• You have good communication skills in English, both written and spoken (Norwegian is a plus but not required).
