IP Operations Engineer
About the job
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented IP Operations Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and administering internal and third-party libraries/IPs, acting as a key liaison between internal development projects and external technology partners, and collaborating with EDA tool partners to facilitate debugging of design test cases while safeguarding intellectual property.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in electrical engineering, experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Perl) in a Linux environment, and familiarity with industry-standard EDA tools and cell/library-level design and verification.
Success in this role requires excellent problem-solving skills, a proactive and structured approach, and the ability to manage multiple partnerships and projects simultaneously. If you thrive in a collaborative environment, enjoy tackling complex challenges, and are passionate about cutting-edge technology, we’d love to hear from you!
Key responsibilities
- Practical handling and administration of internal and 3rd party libraries/IPs, and keeping up to date on new cell/library releases
- Monitoring and sharing of design test cases with EDA tool partners for debugging purposes, ensuring careful review and protection of intellectual property before disclosure
- Status/updates related to other activities in the boundary between internal development projects and external technology partners
- Beneficial if you have practical experience with running library characterization (e.g. Cadence Liberate, Synopsys SiliconSmart, or similar)
Key qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree within electrical engineering or related field
- Experience with scripting languages (Perl, Python, or similar) and working in a Linux-based environment
- Knowledge of industry standard, state-of-the-art EDA tools relevant for cell/library level design and verification
- Some experience with industry standard models required for deliveries at cell/library level (e.g. GDSII/OASIS, Verilog/VHDL, LEF, Liberty, Milkyway, ICC2/NDM, Spice, DFT models, EM-IR models, Redhawk/APL, and similar)
Personal Skills
The ideal candidate has strong interpersonal and communication skills, as the role requires interaction with both external technology partners and internal teams. In addition, you are self-driven, proactive, and highly structured and organized. You possess a strategic mindset and a basic understanding of agreements and legal aspects, as well as the ability to act as a liaison, ensuring the appropriate sharing of information and safeguarding of intellectual property.
The role demands excellent problem-solving skills, including the ability to break larger problems into smaller, more manageable pieces, coordinate across diverse teams and stakeholders, and implement practical solutions. A collaborative and detail-oriented approach, combined with the ability to navigate complex technical and organizational challenges, is key to success in this position.
