The role of Physical Verification and PDK Engineer presents an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development, deployment, and ongoing support of foundry PDKs and verification flows. You will leverage your solid experience with industry-standard physical verification and parasitic extraction tools to develop and maintain rule decks, while proactively driving improvements in methodology and tools to enable robust, high-performance design signoff. You thrive in both collaborative and independent work environments, enjoy solving complex challenges, and are dedicated to ensuring continuous progress through your technical expertise.
Key responsibilities
Implement and maintain DRC, LVS, Extraction rule decks using industry-standard EDA tools such as Pegasus, Calibre, or ICV.
Provide documentation and technical support to internal design teams. As well as working with internal design teams to align PDK updates with technology roadmaps.
Develop and improve PDK QA flows and validation methodologies.
Ensure all tapeout deliveries meet foundry design compliance rules deck.
Interface with foundries on PDK/runset integration, bug reports, and enhancements; support DRC/LVS/PEX issues and waivers during tapeout.
Develop and maintain SKILL-based PCells, symbols, CDF, callbacks, and netlisting for simulation/verification.
Qualification and skills
Strong hands-on experience with Calibre and/or Cadence/Synopsys PV/PEX tools.
Proven DRC/LVS/Antenna/ESD/ERC/PERC deck development/debug skills.
Solid Unix/Linux and scripting (shell, Python) experience.
Understanding of IC design and signoff flows.
PDK installation, validation, and maintenance experience.
SKILL-based PCell/CDF/callback/netlisting development.
Preferred: foundry interface experience, CAD/methodology background, and exposure to advanced nodes.
