Product Designer nRF Cloud powered by Memfault
Join us in shaping the future of connected devices. Design the tools that engineers rely on to build the cloud platform powering million of connected devices worldwide.
Nordic Semiconductor is looking for a Product Designer to join the NRF Cloud team, the cloud platform powering millions of connected devices worldwide.
Built on the technology and expertise acquired through Nordic's acquisition of Memfault, nRF Cloud combines device observability, over-the-air updates, security, location services, and device messaging into a single platform used by firmware engineers, IoT developers, and device fleet operators.
This is an opportunity to work on a highly technical product where design plays a critical role in helping users navigate complexity, understand data, and solve real-world engineering challenges.
About the role
As a Product Designer, you will work within a team that combines the speed, ownership, and pragmatism of a startup. You will become one of two designers within a dedicated product organization consisting of Product Managers, Product Marketing Managers, Engineers, and Technical Leads.
What you'll be working on
Our users are engineers. They use NRF Cloud to monitor, debug, update, secure, and operate fleets of connected devices deployed across the world.
You'll tackle challenges such as:
Designing workflows for debugging embedded and IoT devices remotely
Making complex technical data understandable and actionable
Improving observability and diagnostics experiences
Creating scalable interfaces for fleet management and device operations
Designing tools that help developers move faster and make better decisions
Success in this role means transforming sophisticated technical capabilities into experiences that feel intuitive, efficient, and elegant.
Key responsibilities
Drive product design initiatives from discovery through implementation
Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and customer success to understand how firmware engineers, IoT developers, and device fleet operators use our platform — and what they need to ship faster and debug with confidence
Conduct user research and testing to validate concepts and inform design decisions
Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs
Translate complex technical workflows into intuitive product experiences
Help define product strategy through user insights and design thinking
Contribute to and evolve our design system
Work closely with engineering teams to ensure high-quality implementation
Use qualitative and quantitative data to validate design decisions
Who we're looking for
We're looking for a designer who enjoys solving difficult problems and thrives in environments where ownership matters. The ideal candidate brings strong visual and written communication skills, as well as the ability to clearly present design work and stand behind their decisions. With a sharp eye for detail and a passion for simplicity and usability, you craft elegant solutions that make a real impact.
Preferred background
Experience designing complex B2B SaaS products
Experience with developer tools, technical platforms, infrastructure software, analytics products, or other data-intensive applications
Experience working in startups, scaleups, or smaller product teams
Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design work
Proven ability to simplify complex workflows and systems
Experience collaborating closely with software engineers and product managers
Experience designing for web-based products
Advanced proficiency in Figma, including:

About Nordic Semiconductor
Nordic Semiconductor is a Norwegian fabless semiconductor company specializing in wireless communication technology that powers the Internet of Things (IoT). Nordic was established in 1983 and has about 1400 employees across the globe. Our award-winning Bluetooth Low Energy solutions pioneered ultra-low power wireless, making us the global market leader. Our technology range was later supplemented by ANT+, Thread and Zigbee, and in 2018 we launched our low power, compact LTE-M/NB-IoT cellular IoT solutions to extend the penetration of the IoT. The Nordic portfolio was further complemented by Wi-Fi technology in 2021.
